1938 - 2016 ADAMS Theresa C. Michaels of Cheshire, passed away on Thursday September 22, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family after an extended illness. Theresa was born in Adams on October 3, 1938 daughter of the late Lawrence and Irene Clairmont. She was educated in Adams schools and dedicated her life to raising her family. Teresa was the mother of five children and spent her time focusing on them and their needs. Theresa was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards. Her wonderful knitting expertise allowed her to provide her grandchildren with hats, mittens and sweaters. She loved being able to share the results of this talent with others. Theresa is survived by her husband William E. Michaels, with whom she recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. They were married on May 5, 1956 in Notre Dame Church in Adams. She is also survived by her five children: William L. (Amelia) of Washington D.C., David (Clarisse) of St. Petersburg, FL, Kenneth (Linda) of New York City, Linda Michaels-Negri (Dominic) of Adams and Gary (Mark Lee) of Pensacola, FL. She leaves four siblings: Lorraine (Robert) Strickland of Bennington, VT, Josephine (Robert) Laliberte of Adams, Barbara (Charles) Lewis of Cheshire and Lawrence (Patricia) Clairmont of Adams. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Jessica, Philip, Jay, Jennifer, Jacob, Corey, Christopher, Cody, Matthew and Carrie. She was blessed with five great grandchildren: Gavin, Sienna, Sage, Flynn and Colton. She leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her grandson, Joshua Michaels of Florida. In her final days she cherished the care and compassion that she received from her family. The family would like to thank the BMC step down unit and Hospice Services of Western Massachusetts. The funeral will be held on Friday, September 30, at 10:30 AM in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, officiated by Rev. Steven Montesanti, Pastor of the Parish of St. John Paul II, Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours are Friday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the St. John Paul II Charity Center, P.O. Box 231, Adams, MA 01220.
