Theresa V. Serrilli

1927 - 2014 LEE Theresa Veronica Serrilli, 86, of 235 Walker Street, Pine Hill Assisted Living, died peacefully, Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at her home. Born in Bronx, N.Y., March 30, 1927, the daughter of Joseph and Virginia Casella Cervini, she attended St. Mary's Grammar School in the Bronx and was a 1944 graduate of Cathedral High School, in Manhattan. Mrs. Serrilli was employed as a secretary for an engineering company, and later in the quality control department for the Borden Milk Company, prior to her marriage. Theresa was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Parish in Yonkers, where she spent many happy hours volunteering. She most loved to teach children to read and was admired for her eye for home decorating, and her beautiful gardens. Her kindness, generosity of spirit and beautiful smile will be missed by her family, friends and all those that helped her at Pine Hill. She always did small things with great love. She and her husband of 64 years, Eugene S. Serrilli, were married Oct. 15, 1949. They resided in Yonkers, N.Y. for many years, and had made their home in Lenox for the past five years. Besides her husband, of Lenox, she is survived by her daughters, Ellen Greer and her husband, Michael, of West Stockbridge, and Elizabeth Stevens and her husband, Joseph, of Russell, Mass.; a son, Eric Serrilli and his wife, Mary, of Sparta, N.J.; two sisters, Grace Pettinato of Chester, Conn., and Madeleine Colleary and her husband, Michael, of Scroon Lake, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Eugene P. Serrilli, in 2004. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Mrs. Theresa V. Serrilli will be Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at 12 p.m., from the ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m., at St. Ann's Church, 134 Main St., Lenox, celebrated by the Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus, Pastor. Calling hours at the funeral home, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240, will be Tuesday morning from 10:30 - 12.
