Theresa Zaffino Obituary
Theresa Zaffino

1925-2012 PITTSFIELD Miss Theresa Zaffino, age 86, of Pittsfield passed away on Saturday, September 8th 2012.

Born in Pittsfield on October 16, 1925, she was the daughter of Ambrose and Mary Pisani Zaffino. A lifelong resident of Pittsfield, Miss Zaffino was a 1943 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

She retired from the First Agricultural Bank, (now TD Bank), in 1992 where she worked for most of her life. She was a former communicant of Mount Carmel Church where she was very active in outreach to the elderly of the church, visiting them often, always with a warm pot of soup, fresh flowers for the table or a new book to read.

Miss Zaffino loved her family very deeply. Her happiest moments were the time she spent with her family. She was predeceased by her loving brother and sister-in-law, Bruno and Mary Zaffino. She leaves two nieces and a nephew and their families: Kathy Zaffino Stuart of Goffstown, N.H., her husband, Ken Stuart and their children Anna and Max Stuart; Nancy Zaffino Austermann of Southwick, Mass., her husband Richard Austermann and their children Aric and Bryan Austermann; and David Zaffino of Clinton, N.Y., his wife Ute Dreiner Zaffino and their children Michael Page, Lucas and Noah Zaffino. Aunt Tree, as she was known by her family, always had a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye. She also leaves her caregiver throughout her final years, Rita Tart of Pittsfield, who made those years as happy and comfortable as possible.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling Hours will be private. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 12 Noon at Sacred Heart Church 196 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA. with the Rev. Peter M. Naranjo, Parochial Vicar, officiating. Burial will follow in the family Plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
