Thomas E. Busl

1930-2014 PITTSFIELD Mr. Thomas E. Busl, age 83 of 245 Cheshire Rd. Lot # 38, Pittsfield, died Friday morning at the Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield after a long illness. He was born in Troy, N.Y., March 30, 1930, the son of the late Charles and Jessie Reed Busl. He moved to Williamstown where he attended elementary school. A 1947 graduate of the former Williams High School, Mr. Busl then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a Korean War veteran serving a total of 5 years. Following his discharge, he returned to the Berkshires where he enjoyed several different positions throughout his working career, including working as a Route Salesman for Wonder Bread, as well as working at the Berkshire Life Insurance Co. Additionally, he was employed by the City of Pittsfield School Dept. as the Asst. Supervisor in the supply division for many years. Most recently, he was employed at the former Lampiasi Bakery on Kent Ave. until the bakery succumbed to a fire. A man who always enjoyed working, Mr. Busl retired in 1998 only as a result of failing health. He was a member of both the American Legion and the Pittsfield Lodge of Elks. He and his wife of 55 years, the former Patricia C. Marlowe, were married June 24, 1958. In addition to his wife, he is survived by six daughters, Patricia A. Garneau and Barbara J. Lampiasi, both of Pittsfield, Linda S. Hane of So. Hadley, Mass., Debbie C. Picard of Clairmont, N.H., Brenda Hanlon of North Adams, and Dixie Busl of Vermont, nine sons, Dennis A. Lampiasi of Huntsville, Ala.., Santo F. Lampiasi of Clairmont, N.H., Victor A. Lampiasi of Adams, Mass., Shawn M. Lampiasi of Cheshire, Craig Lampiasi of Minneapolis,Minn., Terry C. Lampiasi of Pittsfield, Brian Busl of Citrus Spring, Fla., Kim Busl, serving with the Peace Corps. in Africa and Kevin Busl of Springfield, Vt., his brother, Willard Busl of Greenvile, S.C., and his sister, Elna Jeffers, of Alameida, Calif. Mr. Busl was the "Proud Grampa" of a total of 65 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will also be dearly missed by his Pekinese dog, "Ming" and his Rag Doll cat, "Molly." FUNERAL NOTICE: Busl, Thomas E. age 83, died Feb. 21st. A private Celebration of His Life by his family and grandchildren will be held Monday evening at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. The Busl and Lampiasi family would like to express its warmful thanks to the nurses and staff at BMC and the Hillcrest Commons for their compassionate and loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
