LENOX Thomas Henry Drain, 65, of Cherry St., died Thursday at his home in the presence of his loving family. Born in Pittsfield on February 4, 1950, the son of Daniel and Irene Wehry Drain, he attended local schools and was a 1967 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Mr. Drain served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from July 27, 1968 until June 1, 1970 when he was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He had been employed at Kimberly Clark Corp., later Schweitzer Mauduit, in Lee as a machine operator for 21 years. He had also worked at the former Rice's Silk Mill and Cavallero Plastics, both in Pittsfield. Tom enjoyed tinkering on cars, motorcycle riding, listening to music, watching classic movies, and reading. He and his wife, Marlene Lois Sorrell Drain, were married in Pittsfield on February 7, 1969. Besides his wife of Lenox he is survived by one daughter, Suzanne M. Baczek of Lenox; one son, Thomas R. Drain of Lenox; grandchildren Betsy, Shaun, Brandon, and Noelle Baczek, all of Lenox; brothers-in-law, Robert Sorrell (Lauren) of Woodbridge, VA, Reginald Sorrell (Sandra) of Newfane, VT., Russell Sorrell of Pittsfield and Ronald Sorrell (Valerie) of Lee; sisters-in-law, Marcia Ogert of Adams and Marie Davis of Pittsfield, Nancy Sorrell of Lenox, and Karen Drain of Cheshire; one sister, Kathy McKeever (Paul); and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Gary and Conrad Drain and his sister, Bonnie Lalonde, and brother-in-law, Richard Sorrell. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral of Mr. Thomas Henry Drain of Lenox will be Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Roche Funeral Home with the Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus, Pastor of St. Ann's Church in Lenox, officiating. Private burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family. Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday evening from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Tom's memory may be made to the in care of the funeral home, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240.
