1929 - 2014 STOCKBRIDGE Thomas Barton Haver, 85, was born on May 10, 1929. He died on Oct. 9 at his home in Haverford Pa. where he was living with Barbara, his wife of 62 years. Tom was born in Newark N.J. and went to high school in Montclair where he made several lifelong friends including Paul and Herb Drucker, Bernie and Joe Belsky, George Ruderman and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin. Tom and Barbara stayed in touch with many of these old friends. Keeping connected to people dear to him defined his life. Tom lost his older brother Sanford "Sandy" Haver in 1984 and his mother Harriet Sossner in 1987. Tom was a psychologist in private practice and a professor at William Paterson University in Wayne N.J. He retired after serving as Department Chair and Dean. Tom loved spending time in the Berkshires in Massachusetts close to his mother, Harriet, extended family and friends. He loved the outdoors, listening to music at Tanglewood and finding treasures for Harriet's antique store. Tom is survived by his wife Barbara; and three sons, Kohel, Ken and Ross; and six grandchildren, Samara, Hana, Amalya, Serena, Alexander and Bryce; and nephews, Bram, Lance and Kyle, Eric, Steven and Mathew. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the , Tanglewood Music Festival in Lenox, Mass., or Therapy Dogs International, an organization that brings dogs to visit patients in hospitals. A memorial service will be held at the Lake in Monterey Massachusetts in the summer 2015.
