Thornton Briggs Wierum

1925-2012 Recently of Bloomington, Minn., passed away peacefully September 8th.

Proceeded in death by the love of his life, Jean Hough Wierum.

Survived by his three daughters, Deborah (Steve Ramsey), Elisabeth (Steve Gerde), Cynthia Rodman (Andy), six grandchildren, Justin, Peter, Frances, Sarah, Alison and Stephen, his sister Peggy Reeve and sister-in-law Barbara Hough.

Raised in Pittsfield, graduate of the Kent School in Conn., Dartmouth College and Columbia Law School. He was an officer in the Marine Corp. Joined J. Walter Thompson Co. in NY in 1953. Over his 35 year career he held legal and financial positions. His last 15 years he served as Senior VP of the Chicago office. He was remembered as "a thoughtful and innovative voice in the administrative and financial management of our entire company, a counselor and mentor to hundreds of JWT people, a conscience to us all."

A wise, passionate man, who cared deeply about the world and his loved ones. He will be dearly missed.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service will take place September 29th at 11 a.m., St. John's Episcopal Church in Williamstown, MA. In lieu of flowers consider a donation to NC Little Memorial Hospice, Edina, MN or St Luke's Episcopal Church, Fairport, NY.
