1930-2014 GREAT BARRINGTON Vera Claire Argentini of Venice, Florida, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2014, at home with her family. Beloved wife of Paul Argentini, they recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. The daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. I.M. Altaraz, she was born March 19, 1930, in Great Barrington, Mass. An internationally known watercolorist, she was represented by galleries throughout the northeast and Florida. Among Vera's creations were collections of flowers, wild flowers, fresh and salt water fish as well as illustrating Cathy Clark's column, The Berkshire Flower Watch, and Paul's book on fly-casting. She created and sold silk flower arrangements through her company, Esthetics. Vera formed and conducted a woman's singing group. She enjoyed playing tennis and cross country skiing with her cherished friends. She is also survived by her children, Lisa of Clearwater, Florida, and Mona of Venice, Florida. Internment will be at Arlington National Cemetary. A springtime celebration of life is being planned in the Berskshires.
