1944 - 2016 CUMMINGTON Veronica "Vicky" M. Russin-Nash of Cummington, MA, born on June 12, 1944 passed away on May 20, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Peter J. and Veronica I. (Kondish) Russin. She was the widow of Arthur B. Russin-Nash who died in 1990 and the son of the late Arthur B. and Katherine (Finegan) Nash. Better known to most as Vicky, she was born in Allen town, PA, but was raised in New Jersey. Vickey was a 1962 Boonton High School graduate and worked for American Cyanamid Corp. and Exxon/ Mobil Corp. in the data entry and accountant departments. Vicky moved to Cummington, MA in 1981. Vicky's college education began in 1982 at Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield, MA an in 1985 she received an Associates Degree. She then proceeded to the University of Massachusetts-Amherst where she received a B.A. in history in 1988 and then a Master's Degree from Vermont College of Norwich University in Montpelier, VT in 1992. Vicky was co-founder along with her husband Art of the University Voice Psychic Society which raised funds for college scholarships and psychic grants. Vicky was well known for her psychic abilities especially for the tarot cards. She appeared on many local cable shows in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts. Besides her psychic abilities she was the owner of the Swiss Chalet Bed & Breakfast which was also her home from 1983 until her death. Vicky enjoyed traveling especially to Germany, and Austria. She also traveled a lot in other European countries as well as the United States. Besides traveling, Vicky was also known for winning ribbons for her baking, photography, and floral arrangements. She also enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Over the years, Vicky was very active in the Village Congregation Church in Cummington serving in many capacities like Sunday School Superintendant, Board of Deacons, Finance, Search Committee, and others. She was a 33 year member of the grange. She was a member of the Cummington Grange #56, Chesterfield Grange #83, Hillside Pomona Grange #20, and the Massachusetts State Grange and National Grange. She served on the Massachusetts State Grange Deaf Awareness Committee. Vicky leaves no immediate survivors, but does leave several cousins and her significant other Richard Darrow of Dalton, MA. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 3rd at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Hills Church, 173 Main St. Haydenville, MA. Vicky will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery alongside her husband Art Nash. Calling hours for Vicky will be held on Thursday, June 2nd from 5-7 p.m. at the Ahearn Funeral Home, 783 Bridge Rd. Northampton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to in her memory.
