Virginia Rogers Obituary
Virginia Burkhardt Rogers

1920 2013 Virginia B. Rogers, of Lenox, Mass., and formerly of Guilford, Conn., died peacefully on October 15th at the age of 93 after a short stay at Kimball Farms Nursing Center. A Connecticut native, Virginia and her husband Wilfred "Bill" Rogers lived in Guilford for 50-years. She moved to Kimball Farms in Lenox, Mass., 10 years ago to be closer to her daughters after Bill's death. Virginia loved her family and her faith. Recently a member of the First Congregational Church of Stockbridge, Mass., she was a long-time member of the First Congregational Church of Guilford where she served as a deaconess and religious education teacher. She put her associate degree in Library Science from Quinnipiac University to work volunteering at the Guilford Free Library and later in the library at Kimball Farms. She liked playing cards with the Dinky Doos and treasured her neighbors and friends in the Clapboard Hill section of Guilford. Virginia was a devoted wife and great partner; she worked with her husband Bill at his photographic business, Rogers Studio, in New Haven, Conn. In later years she remained active at Kimball Farms where she worked at the Thrift Shop, served as secretary of the library committee, and was a member of the Archives and Garden committees. Virginia was a warm, soft-spoken, and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother whose compassion and understanding will be greatly missed by her family. She is survived by her sister Emily Jones, her daughters Joan Rogers Kelly and husband Jack, and Lorraine Rogers Ditz and husband Michael, and by her grandchildren Daniel and Elizabeth Ditz, great grandson Jaysce Milano, and many nieces and nephews.
