Wallace C. Hitchcock Jr.

1941-2013 SHEFFIELD Wallace "Wally" Clayton Hitchcock, Jr. passed away November 18, 2013 at Fairview Hospital. Born on Christmas Day in 1941 he was the son of the late Wallace and Matilda Hitchcock. A native and lifelong resident of Sheffield, Wally attended local schools and graduated from Mt. Everett Regional High School. Following graduation he enlisted in the Marine Corps, and was honorably discharged in 1966. After he was discharged Mr. Hitchcock returned to Sheffield where he married his wife, Lorraine Nicholas, and went back to work for the family business "Wally's Trucking Co.", which he owned and operated for many years. Wally was an active member of the Sheffield American Legion Post #340. Along with his wife, Lorraine; he is survived by his daughter, Yvette Duval; his grandchildren, Lily and Amos Duval; his sisters, Nancy, Anita, Jeanne, and Michele; and one brother Mathias. FUNERAL NOTICE: The family will receive friends on Friday, November 22, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington. The funeral will be held on Friday, November 22nd at 1 p.m at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Bruce Teague. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Sheffield Center Cemetery.
