Walter J. O'Brien

1958 - 2014 ADAMS Walter J. O'Brien Sr., 55, of 1 Hughes St., died Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Adams on December 5, 1958, he was the son of the late Roy W. and Helen Bujalska O'Brien, and attended Adams schools. He was a welder by trade and worked for several years in South Carolina, then returned to Adams and became employed with the former Curtis Paper Co. Walter also was employed, for many years, for the Jaeschke's Orchard in Adams. He was a Navy veteran, serving on various submarines. Walter was a communicant of the former St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Adams, and enjoyed gardening, watching NFL football, casino's and horse racing. In his younger years he was a member of Boy Scout Troop 38 in Adams, where he became an Eagle Scout. He is survived by his longtime companion, Lynn Morris of Adams; a son, Walter J. O'Brien Jr. and his companion, Jalissa Riddle; three brothers, Roy W. O'Brien and his wife, Mary Jane, William O'Brien and his wife, Kathleen, and Timothy O'Brien, all of Adams; two sisters, Mary Paree and her husband, Raymond, Teresa Revett and her husband, Richard, all of Adams; Lynn's children, Kate, Allison, Joshua, and Cody Morris, and several nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Walter will take place Monday, March 17, 2014, at 7PM from the TROTTIER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams. Burial will be at a later date, to be announced at the convenience of the family. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Donations in his memory can be made to Popcares Inc. in care of the funeral home.
