Wanda P. Stone

1913 - 2013 ADAMS Wanda Pauline (Pelczynski) Stone, 99, a longtime resident of Adams, died on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 in Warner Robins, Georgia where she and her late husband had lived since 1999.

She was born in Adams on November 26, 1913, to Adam Pelczynski and Blanche Oparowski Pelczynski, and attended St. Stanislaus School. Mrs. Stone was employed for 34 years as a spinner at Berkshire Fine Spinning Co., until the company closed. She then worked for 10 years at Cornish Wire Company in Williamstown, retiring in 1976. She was a 65-year communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Adams as well as a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Warner Robins, Georgia. Mrs. Stone was a member of the St. Stanislaus Rosary Sodality and Polish Woman's Alliance; Court Sancta Regina # 904 of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas; St. Michael's Society, and an active member of the Adams Senior Citizens Club. She was a devoted wife and mother, always eager to help others.

She was predeceased on May 10, 2005, by her husband of 72 years, Willard Stone, whom she married on September 30, 1933. She was also predeceased by her son, Donald Stone.

She is survived by a daughter, Virginia Antaya and husband Maurice Antaya of Austin, Texas; three sons, Gerald Stone and wife, Jane Henderson of Warner Robins, Georgia: Richard Stone and wife Barbara of Ed Couch, Texas; and John Stone and wife Helen of Jaffrey, New Hampshire; a daughter in-law, Nancy Stone of Inverness, Florida; a sister-in-law, Betty Belding of North Adams, MA. She leaves her much loved sisters, Victoria Hoellerich of Cheshire, Mass. and Sr. Florence Pelczynski, CSSF, of the Felician Sisters of Enfield, Connecticut; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Four brothers, Stanley, Frank, Charles and Rev. Walter Pelczynski, MIC, are deceased.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, February 9th, at 11:30 AM from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12 Noon in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams.

Calling hours are Saturday morning from 10:00 until 11:30 at the funeral home. The Rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM
