William G. Fuchs

WEST LEBANON, NY William G. "Willie" Fuchs, 78, died Sunday, October 11, 2015 at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany. Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Frederick W. and Emma Schaeffer Fuchs. An avid NY Yankee and NY Jets fan, as a youngster he would sneak in to Yankee Stadium which was near his home to watch the Yankees. He was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War. In 1962, he moved to West Lebanon where he raised his family and was a longtime business owner. He was also employed by the North American Van Lines as a long distance truck driver. He was an avid gunsmith and gun enthusiast and enjoyed bird hunting. He loved his coffee, dogs, Christmas time and German food. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He is the beloved father of Frederick E. (Michele) Fuchs of Greenport, William A. Fuchs of West Lebanon, Elizabeth J. (Tom) Pinkowski of Stuyvesant and Jon D. Fuchs of West Lebanon; proud grandfather of Lauren E. (Brent) Gawron, Tyler W. Plawinski, Christopher T. and Emma K. Pinkowski and Jackson W. Fuchs; brother of Frederick E. Fuchs of Florence, Italy and his late sister, Pearl Nissen. SERVICES: Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY Rt. 43, Stephentown on Friday from 4 to 6 pm followed by the funeral service at 6 pm.
