William C. Gardner

1946-2013 William C. Gardner 66, of 71 Liberty St. North Adams died Saturday October 12, 2013 at the Berkshire Medical Center. He was born in Berlin,NY. on December 4, 1946 a son of the late William and Irene (Langlois) Gardner. He attended schools in Berlin, N.Y. Mr. Gardner was employed as a union carpenter for most of his life and also worked at the Green Mountain Race Track. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Survivors include his wife Karen (Van Steemburg) Briggs. One daughter Tracey Maynard of Williamstown and one son Joseph Gardner of North Adams. Two stepdaughters Jennifer Ering and her husband Timothy of Kingston, Mass., and Rebecca Briggs of North Adams. Eight grandchildren Laetitia, Taylor, Keegan, Jacob, Jaelynn, Stephan, Phineas and Sawyer. Two great grandchildren. One brother Thomas Gardner and three sisters Charlotte Garneau, Nora Fitzpatrick and Mary Gilbert and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Theresa Purdy. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services for William Gardner will take place Thursday at 7:00 P.M. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, Ma. Calling Hours at the funeral home are Thursday from 4-7 P.M. Memorial Donations are suggested for the St. Jude Children Hospital or to the Ronald McDonald's House through the funeral home.
