William P. Paterson

1940-2012 PITTSFIELD Mr. William P. Paterson 72, of 37 Baldwin Avenue, Pittsfield, died Friday, December 7, 2012 at his home, surrounded in the loving presence of his family.

He was born in Ticonderoga, N.Y., on January 18, 1940 a son of the late William M. & Phyllis (Nourse) Paterson and moved to Pittsfield as a child and attended Pittsfield Schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1958. A printer by trade he was employed by Ben. Franklin Press from 1958-1970 and then was employed by Quality Printing Company, Hadley Printing Company, Arrow Press and Courier Printing Company and retired in 2003. He was a communicant of St. Mark's Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling.

Survivors include his wife the former Marie Elena Maffuccio and they were married on October 19, 1963. Two Sons, William M. Paterson and David M. Paterson both of Pittsfield, one Brother, John Paterson of Pittsfield, one Sister, Bonnie Britigan and her husband William of Pittsfield, one Granddaughter Tiffany Paterson, two Great Grandchildren, Nikolas Sumner and Nova Britton, and his Siamese Cat Miles who he adored.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Private Services for William P. Paterson will be Monday, December 10, 2012 at 8:15 a.m. from the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME 5 Elm Street, Pittsfield, MA, 01201. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at St. Mark's Church by the Rev. Tomasz Parzynski, parochial vicar. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery. There will be No Calling Hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home. Please visit www.flynndagnolifuneralhomes.com
