William Tatro, Jr.
1936 - 2015 NORTH ADAMS Mr. William Henry Tatro, Jr., 79 of 40 Mill St. died Tuesday Feb. 17, 2015 at Berkshire Medical Center. He was born on his Mother's birthday on Feb. 7, 1936 in Pittsfield, son of William Henry Tatro and Genevieve (Ballardini) Tatro Hayford. He attended Pittsfield schools. He was last employed by Vermont Yankee Atomic Plant in Vernon, VT as a laborer for Labor Union Local #473 for 15 years until his retirement in 2000. Previously, William was an ironworker with Iron Workers Local #12 in Albany, NY. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. William loved collecting antiques, both buying and selling and fishing. He spent winters with his wife in Zephyrhills, Florida for many years, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann (O'Neil) Tatro whom he married on Dec. 4, 1954; and three daughters including Mary Margaret Egeland of Waynesville, OH; Patricia Ann Bernier of Cheshire, and Karen Jean Tatro of Holyoke; and three sons including Dennis Tatro of Clarksburg; William Tatro and Robert Tatro of North Adams; and nine grandchildren including Aaron Egeland, Joshua Egeland, Jennifer Bernier Brown, Christopher Bernier, Genevieve Tatro, Leah Tatro, Kate Lynn Tatro, Ethan Tatro and Joseph Tatro; and six great-grandchildren including Caleb, Bryce, Cason, Courtney, Sabrina, and Henry. He also leaves three brothers including Edward Tatro, Robert Tatro, and John Tatro, all of Pittsfield, MA; and one sister, Mary Jane Gumula of Pittsfield; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his stepfather, Ira Hayford and his brother, Delphos Tatro. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for William Tatro Jr. will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will be in the spring in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA are Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in care of the funeral home. I am so sorry for all of your loss. Mrs Tatro who I called , living on Prospect St years ago Peggy,Pattty , Karen , Dennis And the twins, Billy and Bob.
