Winifred E. White 1917-2012 Winifred E. White, 94, passed away Jan, 13, 2012 at The Clough Center in New London, N.H. Born Winifred Elizabeth Brundage in Billerica, Mass. on May 30, 1917 the second child of Bertrum and Ester Stokes Brundage. Her sister Doris predeceased her. She married John Richard White in 1934, (predeceased 1999) living for many years on Bridge St., in Lanesboro. There she raised her family of eight children, Rockwell (predeceased), 'Winifred Roz of East Andover, N.H., John Jr. predeceased), Kristine Tibbetts of Cummings, Ga., Karl of Hancock, Mass., Mark of Becket, Mass., Ned of Trenton, Fla., Guy of Paialli, Hawaii, and Mark Jason (predeceased). In the early sixties she and her husband moved to Pittsfield, There she graduated from the licensed practical nurse program at the top of her class. Being a nurse was a life long dream of hers to do after her children were grown. She worked at Berkshire Medical Center until her husband retired from General Electric, and then moved to Boca Raton, Fla. There she continued with the work she so loved at the Baptist Retirement Center for another six years. During this time period besides working she enjoyed swimming twice a day in the ocean, collecting shells, and enjoying visits from her children and grandchildren. Traveling to the many springs in Florida, precipitated another move to Chiefland, Fla. to be close to The Manatee Springs for swimming in fresh water every day. She remained here until moving to Mayfield, N.Y., to live with her daughter and son in law. Winifred is survived by her six living children fourteen grandchildren, twenty great grand children, and six great, great grand children. She is also survived by a faithful life long friend Eunice Hannigan of Hadley, Mass. Services will be at St. Lukes Episcopal Church in Lanesboro, Mass. in the spring. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery on Bailey Rd. Memorial contribution may be made to St. Lukes Episcopal Church Lanesboro, Massachusetts in her name.
