Samuel R. Fulginiti

1921-2014 NORTH ADAMS Mr. Samuel R. Fulginiti, 92, of 15 Myers Ave., died Sunday, February 2, 2014 at North Adams Commons. He was born in North Adams on November 1, 1921, son of Giuseppe and Angelina (Cirullo) Fulginiti. He attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1939. Sam was a veteran of World War II and served in the US Navy as a Boatswain's Mate Second Class on the USS Elizabeth C. Stanton. He participated in four invasions in Europe. He was employed by General Cable Co. for many years until his retirement. Sam was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church and was a member of the American Legion in North Adams. Survivors include his wife, the former Mae O'Neil, whom he married on January 6, 1945; two daughters, Nancy Canales and her husband, George; and Ann Harpin, and her husband, David, all of North Adams. He also leaves four grandchildren, Michael Canales, David Canales, Jason Canales, and Angela Rougeau; and seven great-grandchildren, Owen, Evan, Annie, Dana, Sami, Brayden, and Wyatt. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Sam Fulginiti will be Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to POP Cares or the in care of the funeral home.
