Grace E. Boudreau

1924-2014 PITTSFIELD Mrs. Grace E. Boudreau, 89, formerly of 193 Elberon Ave., passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Berkshire Medical Center. She had resided at Mount Carmel Care Center of Lenox, formerly Providence Care Center, since 2011. Born in Lenox on August 6, 1924, the daughter of Emile X. and Elizabeth H. Pratt Voisin, she graduated from Lenox High School in 1941. Mrs. Boudreau received her LPN Certificate in 1976 and worked at Edgecombe Nursing Home for 25 years, retiring in 1990. She was a US Army World War II veteran, receiving the American Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Meritorious Unit SV plaque. Grace was a communicant of St. Charles Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward J. Boudreau Sr., whom she married on November 27, 1947 at St. Ann's Church in Lenox. He died on June 25, 1996. She is survived by her children, Mary Benoit and her husband Bob of Pittsfield and Edward J. Boudreau Jr. and his wife Pamela of Stockbridge; two sisters, Bertha White of Bradenton, Fla. and Lucille Witaszek of West Warren, Mass.; three grandchildren, Andrew C. Benoit, Danielle M. Boudreau and Mathieu T. Boudreau. The family of Mrs. Boudreau would like to thank the staff at Mount Carmel Care Center in Lenox, Dr. Sean Kelly M.D., Chris Kiernan and the staff of BMC 2 South and the BMC Step-down Unit for the compassionate and loving care they gave Grace. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services for Mrs. Grace E. Boudreau will be Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 9 a.m. from the DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Church celebrated by the Rev. A. Peter Gregory, pastor and concelebrated by the Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus, pastor of St. Ann's Church in Lenox. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Charles Church, Reaching New Heights or St. Charles Memorial Funds care of the Dwyer Funeral Home in her memory.
