Mildred Greene

Mildred Greene, lived long to 103. She resided in Williamstown since 1954 when her husband began his dentistry practice in North Adams over the Mohawk Theater. She was a homemaker, a mother, an explorer of many religions who conveyed universal hope, faith, and encouraging help to everyone. Her late husband of 55 years, Dr. Nathaniel Greene, and a son, now 69, Richard David Greene, were specially uplifted by her presence, as were all including the decades of beloved pet cats and dogs of the warmly welcoming home, a home resolutely open to anyone in need. Mildred was also notable for world-embracing social conscience. This, and her readiness to fill a mother and grandmother role for a long series of unrelated children and even adults, made this world a bit less difficult for all. A small special goodness was in her mid-seventies suddenly creating some memorable artworks. Another special goodness, was the mutual deep warmth shared with nursing teams, and fellow patients at North Adams Commons in her last five years. FUNERAL NOTICE: Burial for Mildred Greene will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April17 in the Eastlawn Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 7p.m. that evening in Blackington Union Church, North Adams, MA.
