Hester E. Rennie
1917-2014 PITTSFIELD Hester E. Rennie, 96, of Upland Rd., passed away Wednesday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born June 22, 1917 in Greenwich, Conn., the daughter of Franz and Sophie Johnson Carlson, she graduated from Lenox High School in 1935. She was employed by General Electric Co. in Pittsfield in the Transformer Assembly Division for 24 years, retiring in 1982. Earlier in her career she had worked at Miss Hall's School and the former St. Luke's Hospital. Hester was a member of St. Helena's Chapel in Lenox. She was a lover of Animals and enjoyed volunteering at the Berkshire Humane Society as well as adopting and caring for the many pets she had given a loving home to over her lifetime. However, her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter Patricia R. Trask and her husband Donald of Washington, Mass.; her son Philip J. Rennie and his wife Hania of Lenox; grandchildren Donald C. Trask and wife Carrianne, Bryan M. Trask and wife Alicia, Kristin Rennie-Carlson and husband Jeffrey, and Kendra Bushart and husband Timothy; and nine great-grandchildren. FUENRAL NOTICE: The funeral of Mrs. Hester E. Rennie will be Saturday morning at 10 am at the ROCHE FUNERAL HOME in Lenox with the Rev. Michael Tuck, Pastor of Trinity Church in Lenox, presiding. A calling hour at the funeral home will precede the service from 9-10. In lieu of flowers donations in Hester's memory may be made to the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter in care of the funeral home, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240.
