Mae C. Fulginiti

1924 - 2014 NORTH ADAMS Mae C. O'Neil Fulginiti, 90, of 15 Myers Ave. North Adams, died Saturday, April 26, 2014, at BayState Medical Center. She was born in North Adams, on April 19, 1924, daughter of Thomas and Hazel Estes O'Neil, and was a graduate of Drury High School. Mae was last employed at Sprague Electric Co., and previously worked at Cornish Wire Co. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Mae enjoyed painting and won numerous awards for her oil paintings. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also liked to travel. Her husband of 69 years, Samuel R. Fulginiti died on Feb. 2, 2014. They were married on Jan. 6, 1945. Survivors include her two daughters, Nancy Canales and her husband, George, and Ann Harpin and her husband, David, all of North Adams; four grandchildren, Michael Canales and his wife, Katey, of North Adams, David Canales and his wife, Dawn, of Cheshire, Jason Canales and his wife, Jill, of North Adams, and Angela Rougeau and her husband, Brandon, of Wilmington, N.C.; seven great-grandchildren, Owen, Evan, Annie, Dana, Samantha, Brayden, and Wyatt; a brother, Richard "Mickey" O'Neil of North Adams; two sisters, Florence "Polly" Roberts-Dalmaso of Hancock and Bernice Cole of North Adams, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Meranti and ten brothers, Francis, Bernard, Thomas, William, Raymond, Louis, Albert, Bruce, Patrick, and Robert. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Mae Fulginiti will be Thursday, May 1, 2014, at 10:15 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home.
