Peter K. Hurley

1950-2014 Peter K. Hurley, of 169 Valentine Rd. died Saturday. Born in Pittsfield, March 23, 1950, the son of John J. and Mary S. Rennie Hurley. Heattended Lenox Schools. Pete was employed by Harold Felton Construction and as a mechanic at Wards Mobile. Those who knew Pete said he had a heart of gold. He was always helping others with carrepairs and he had a great sense of humor. He was a practical joker. He oncetook abumble bee that he found,and hung it from a fish line to startle anyone coming up the Hurley porch steps. Pete was a fisherman, mechanic, and all around handy man. Pete was the only Hurley boythat inheritedhis Mom's red hair. He is survived by his brothers James A.andCharles E. Hurley of Pittsfield, John J.and Timothy D. Hurley of Lenox, Terence M. Hurley of Auburn CA, Matthew B. Hurley of Colorado Springs, CO: and his two sisters Mary E. Armstrong of Pittsfield and Lillian A. Matelliof Bel Air, MD. He was predeceased in death by his brothers Patrick W. and Michael T. Hurley. FUNERAL NOTICE: There will be a graveside service at St Ann's Cemetery in Lenox, celebrated by Rev. Christopher Waitekus, Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 12pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Hillcrest Commons Nursing Home, in care of the Roche Funeral Home, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240.
