Mary LeBrecht

1921-2014 LENOX Mary LeBrecht, 92, passed away on May 7, 2014. She was born on September 2, 1921, in New York City and was the daughter of the late Mary Evelyn DuVall Thompson Lewis and Clifton Thompson Lewis. Mary is survived by her daughter, Lindsay LeBrecht of Craryville, N.Y., and son, James LeBrecht, of Oakland, Calif. She also leaves behind her niece, Linda McMeekin, of Great Barrington, and Linda's children Heather and her husband Kurt Barbieri, Michael and his wife Jayme McMeekin and Andrew and his wife Kelsey McMeekin and their children, Haley and Nicholas Barbieri, Cole McMeekin and Elizabeth and Madison McMeekin. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Josephine Sutter and her husband Otto "Duke" and her brother and sister-in-law, Clifton Lewis and his wife, LIllian. Mary attended Washington Irving High School and Hunter College. Her first job was working for IBM. She moved to Hartsdale, N.Y. in 1954 to raise her children. When her children were old enough, Mary found employment at the White Plains Driving School and Whitaker's Pharmacy doing clerical work. A graveside service celebrating Mary's life will be held on Tuesday, May 13 at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery, 90 Stockbridge Rd., Great Barrington, conducted by Rev. Richard Hayes. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 12 from 4 to 7p.m. at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington.
