Lawrence J. Romano

1947-2014 LEE Lawrence John Romano, 67, of Chestnut Street in Lee, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 while at his hunting lodge in Saskatchewan, Canada. Born on February 25, 1947 in Fort Lee, New Jersey he was the son of Mary Gammone Romano and the late Lorenzo Romano. He was a graduate of Floral Park Memorial in Floral Park, New York. Following graduation Larry enlisted in the Army in 1964. He served during Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1967. Mr. Romano was a former longtime resident of Mount Washington. It was there that he and his former wife, Carolyn, raised their four children Frank, Lisa, Vincenzo and Lorenzo. Larry who was an avid hunter took his knowledge and passion to become a hunting outfitter, opening a hunting lodge in Saskatchewan. Along with his mother, Mary Romano of Great Barrington, Larry is survived by his wife, Xaioli whom he married on June 25, 2008 in Chengdew, China. He also leaves his children, Frank, Lisa, Vincenzo and Lorenzo Romano and their mother, Carolyn Romano, as well as Antonio and Anna Marie Romano; his stepson Tony Xiong; his brothers, Richard and John Romano; three grandchildren Frances, Sofia and Charles Romano. FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service celebrating the life of the late Lawrence Romano will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 12 p.m. at Crossroads Cemetery in Mount Washington, MA, conducted by Rev. Charles Van Ausdall. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 29 from 4 to 7 p.m. at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington.
