Henry C. McIntosh

1941 - 2014 PITTSFIELD Mr. Henry C. "Hank" McIntosh, 72, of 1081 Cascade St., died Thursday afternoon at Berkshire Medical Center, after a long illness. He was born Aug. 9, 1941, in Hudson, N.Y., the son of the late Raymond and Bertha Unson McIntosh. He began his education in the schools there and continued in the Pittsfield School System. A steelworker by profession, he became disabled at the age of 40 and turned to his new career. Passionate about farming and raising produce and herbs, he enjoyed making them available for sale at the Farmer's Market. He was proud to donate any surplus to both the Christian Center and to Soldier On. Mr. McIntosh was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam era. He is survived by his companion and caretaker for the past 17 years, Denise M. Shogry. In addition to Denise, he is survived by his 3 sons, Neal H. McIntosh of Pittsfield, Henry J. McIntosh of Adams, and Randy S. McIntosh of Pittsfield; three daughters, Bonnie J. Tiegens of Ft. Pierce, Fla., Laurie A. Atwell of Lanesboro, and Audrey A. McIntosh of Pittsfield; two sisters, Judy Moro and Sandra Coryell, both of Pittsfield; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Daniel M. McIntosh, who died Oct. 15, 1995. FUNERAL NOTICE: McIntosh, Henry C., " Hank," 72, died June 4. Calling hours at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME will be Sunday afternoon from 3 to 6 p.m. Services will be held Monday morning at 11 a.m., at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME with the Rev. William D. Furey, pastor of Berkshire Union Chapel, officiating. Graveside services with full Military Honors will be held Tuesday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. at the Pittsfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to Soldier On in care of the funeral home.
