Marjorie Bradbury

Marjorie Bradbury, 88, of Dorset Vt., passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 3, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., after a long illness. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing. The daughter of the late George Seddon and Marjorie McDonough Seddon, she was born and raised in North Adams Mass., and was a graduate of Drury High School in North Adams. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts, formerly Massachusetts State College, and worked for a time as a lab technician. She married her high school sweetheart, John Bradbury, in 1947, and devoted herself to raising their three children. She was a Navy wife while her husband was recalled to active service during the Korean War. She had many interests and talents including quilting, gardening, skiing, cooking, and knitting. She enjoyed traveling internationally during her husband's 30 year corporate career. She was active in her parish, serving the Catholic Daughters, Court St. Rita, as both Treasurer and Vice Regent. She also volunteered for over 20 years at Robert Todd Lincoln's Hildene, and The Southern Vermont Arts Center, both in Manchester, Vt. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, John; her children, Craig and his wife, Diane, of Cohasset, Mass., Karen and her husband, Bill, of Cazenovia, N.Y., and Chris and his wife, Lisa, of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Tyler, Jack, and Andrew, and granddaughter, Lauren, who predeceased her; stepgrandchildren, Rachel and husband, Ian, of Schenectady, N.Y., Rebecca and Sara of West Pawlet, Vt., and her brother, John Seddon of Elkridge, Md. FUNERAL NOTICE: Visiting hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, June 9, at Brewster Funeral Service, 34 Park Place in Manchester Center, Vt. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Manchester Center, Vt. Tuesday, June 10t, at 10 a.m., followed by interment at Southview Cemetery in North Adams, Mass. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health, Neurology Research Fund, and mailed to, Michele T.Clark, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Development, 1 Medical Center Drive Lebanon, NH 03756.
