John David Bell

1957 - 2014 PITTSFIELD John David Bell, 57, of 66 Third Street, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on July 20, 1957, the son of Frances T. Bemis Bell and the late Joseph E. Bell, he was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1975 graduate of Taconic High School. He had served as a Military Police Officer with the United States Air Force. Mr. Bell was employed with Laborers Local 473 where he worked as a laborer and a construction supervisor in the building trades. Mr. Bell was a member of Fire and Iron. He enjoyed motorcycles and was a HOG member. He also enjoyed camping and fishing so much so that he built his own camper. Mr. Bell leaves his mother, Frances Bell, of the state of Fla. He is also survived by five children, John D. Bell, II., of Mass., Candace Bell of Texas, Justine Bell of Ky., Ashley Bell of Pa., and Frank Bell of Mass.; four grandchildren, Daysha (9), Kingston (3), Josafeena (6), and Tyshawn (9); as well as two brothers, James A. Bell of Calif., and Joseph E. Girard-Bell of Mass.; and two sisters, Frances Bigh of Mass. and Regina Clark of Fla. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Mary Christina Bell. FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service for John David Bell will be held Friday, Aug. 15, at 7 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield with the Pastor Sigmund Sadzinski officiating. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the BIA-MA (Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts) in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
