Eugene Bourassa 1942 - 2008 PITTSFIELD Eugene A. Bourassa, 66, of 240 Williams St., died Saturday, Nov. 22, at Berkshire Medical Center. He was born in North Adams, on Feb. 15, 1942, son of Arthur and Violet Clairmont Bourassa. He attended North Adams Schools and graduated from Drury High and North Adams Trade School in 1961, and also completed International Correspondence School in Mechanical Engineering. He was employed as a senior Designer for Beloit Lenox, Lenox Division for 30 years and he retired in 1999. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Pittsfield, and served in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Charles A. ware and was in the Cuban Missle Crises and traveled the Mediterranean, and was Honorably Discharged in 1964. Eugene enjoyed sailing, golf, biking, kyaking, traveling and camping. He leaves his wife, the former Beverly A. DiSantis, and they were married on July 18, 1964, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Pittsfield, one son, Eugene Bourassa II of Pittsfield, one daughter, Kimberly A. Czarnecki of Pittsfield, two brothers, Arthur Bourassa Jr., and wife, Joie, of Pittsfield, and Richard Bourassa, and his wife, Nancy of Pittsfield, one sister, Beverly Luczynski, and her husband, Richard of North Adams, four grandchildren, Robert, Brittany, Cody, Zachary Czarnecki. FUNERAL NOTICE: Private Memorial Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, at Sacred Heart Church by the Rev. James K. Joyce, Pastor. Burial followed in the Family Plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter in care of the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St. Pittsfield, MA 01201, was in charge of arrangements.
