Theresa M. Olszewski

1929 - 2010 HOUSATONIC Theresa M. Olszewski, 80, of 11 Wyantenuck St., Housatonic, died Thursday June 24, at Fairview Commons Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born in Wallingford, Vt., on Dec. 12, 1929, daughter of Frederick and Margaret Cook. She attended school in Pittsfield. She worked for the former Home Gas Co. as a mail clerk for over 35 years, retiring in 1996. Theresa was a communicant of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church of the Corpus Christi Parish, Housatonic. She enjoyed bowling and spending time with her grandchildren.

Her husband, Francis J. "Ruby" Olszewski, whom she married on June 14, 1952, in St. Mary's Church, Pittsfield, died on July 4, 2007.

Theresa leaves one son, Dennis, and his wife, Linda, of Great Barrington, and one daughter, Diane Tracy, and her husband, John, of Great Barrington; three brothers, Edward, of Housatonic, John of Nags Head, N.C., and Michael of Pittsfield; three sisters, Donna Boldyga and Mary Grady, both of Pittsfield, and Carol Potter of Pownal, Vt., and three grandchildren, Matthew, Caitlin and Joseph Tracy.

Besides her husband, Theresa was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and Leo, and one sister, Margaret "Honey" Gaudette.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 28, at 10 a.m. with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church, with the Rev. William P. Murphy, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bridget's Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Sunday, June 27, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME.

In lieu of flowers, family requests that expressions of sympathy in Theresa's memory may be made to the Blessed Teresa of Calcutta's improvement fund in care of the funeral home at 33 South Street, Great Barrington, MA 01230.
