Patricia Anne Stephenson 1924-2010 DALTON- Patricia Anne Stephenson, 86, of High Street Dalton passed away at her home on Sunday. Patricia was born on January 26, 1924 in Blackington, North Adams, to Allan and Agnes M. Benoit Bates. She attended the former Archer School in North Adams and graduating from Drury High School in 1942. She then went on to North Adams State College where she earned a degree in elementary education graduating in 1947. She then married Peter W. Stephenson on December 29, 1947, they celebrated their 50th Wedding anniversary on December 29, 1997, and they were married for 54 years, until Peter's death on July 13, 2001. Patricia was a teacher at West Stockbridge School from 1947-1949 and a substitute teacher in the Central Berkshire School District for many years. She was a member of the Wahconah Country Club for many years, and a member of the Dalton Congregational Church, she was a proof reader for the Dalton News Record, A member of Dalton Mothers Club for over 50 years, a member of Dalton Bicentennial Committee, and Berkshire County Extension Service. Patricia loved birds, flowers, riding her bike, walking, crosswords, and Car Trips. She leaves her sister Eileen Brennan of Cambridge, N.Y. her three sons, Robert and his wife, Cynthia of Milford, Conn., Michael and his wife, Barbara of Cape Coral, Fla., David and his wife, Deborah of Groveland, Mass., and her daughter Susan Stevenson of Dalton, Mass. Her six grandchildren Sarah, Gordon, Lauren, Nicholas, Benjamin and Abigail also many nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Patricia Anne Stephenson will be held at the BARTLETT WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME 525 MAIN STREET DALTON MA on Thursday September 23, 2010 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William Imes officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashuelot Cemetery in Dalton. Calling hours will be held Wednesday September 22, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the BARTLETT WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME. Donations in her memory can be made to the Dalton Ambulance Fund.
