Lois Fenton Robertson 1917-2010 LENOX Lois Fenton Robertson passed away on November 29th in Lenox, at the age of 93. Lois was born January 30, 1917, in Bradenton, Fla., to Sidney and Florence Fenton. She grew up in Pittsfield, graduated from Pittsfield High School, and attended Drew Seminary and Berkshire Business School. After a brief career at The Berkshire Eagle, Lois married Robert C. Robertson, also of Pittsfield, on February 22, 1941, and went on to raise four sons on Warwick Street, before moving in 1976 to Richmond. She is pre-deceased by her husband, Robert, who died in 1979, her son, Robert, III., who died in 1994, and her son, Alan, who died in 1998, as well as her brother, Irving Fenton, who died in 2009. Lois will always be lovingly remembered for her graciousness, her love of a good story, and her ability to entertain her friends and family well and effortlessly. She was an incredible gardener known for her prize roses and her asparagus beds, a wonderful hostess, and a devoted champion of cats and dogs. Her family and friends will always treasure memories of cookouts by her pool and the holidays at her wonderful home in Richmond. She was a member of the Country Club of Pittsfield and enjoyed golfing. Lois is survived by two sons and their wives, Tom and Nicole Robertson of East Greenwich, R.I., and their children, Nathaniel and Samuel Robertson, and John and Linda Robertson of Pittsfield, and their children, Alison Dietsch, John, Jr.,Brian, Kelly, and Katie. She also leaves her daughter-in-law, Cindy Robertson, and her children, Jennifer Kerwood and William Robertson, and former daughter-in-law, Margaret Robertson and her children, Robert IV, Betsy Hiestand, and Charles Robertson. She leaves twelve great grandchildren and her sister-in-law, Virginia Fenton. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Lois Fenton Robertson will be Friday, December3, at 11 a.m, at DERY FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Jennifer Gregg, Assistant Rector of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, December 2, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Robertson may be made to the Berkshire Community College Foundation, Alan E. Robertson Scholarship Fund in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
