ROY TREIBLE

Obituary Condolences

Roy Roland Treible 1940-2011 It is with deep sadness that the family of Roy Roland Treible announces his passing on December 17, 2011. Roy was born to Kenneth and Lillian Ryder Treible on May 12, 1940 at his grandparent's home in Dingman's Ferry, Pennsylvania, and was raised.in the small village of Bevans, New Jersey. This is where his strong work ethic was established. It was not unusual to find Roy and his siblings working in their own family garden one day, and spending the next helping a neighbor harvest his hay field. Working hard was part of Roy's character and was evident up to the very last day of his life. Roy was a natural athlete and growing up he loved to hunt, fish, and swim At Newton High School (NJ), he was a varsity wrestler, and often hitchhiked the 30 miles home in order to participate after school in practices and matches. His favorite sport, however, was baseball and his childhood dream was to play for the Philadelphia Phillies. A kind and gentle person, Roy raised Seeing Eye Dogs and was heartbroken each time a dog was ready to be put into service. Roy married the love of his life, Suzanne Templeman, on September 2, 1961, and they have been inseparable ever since. Eventually, they bought a home in Green Township, New Jersey, which he lovingly restored room-by-room over many years. They had three children Beth, Roy, and Jamie -- whom he loved dearly. Fifteen years ago, Roy and Suzanne moved to Pittsfield to be near their daughter and son-in-law, and to be a daily presence in the lives of their two grandchildren, Andrew and Mia. Roy joined Henry's Electric in Lee, where he made wonderful friends, most especially Keith Raftery. A master electrician, Roy owned his own electrical contracting business in New Jersey with his brother, Kenny. He was an equally talented carpenter and master of all trades. He loved restoring old homes, and there wasn't much he couldn't do or didn't know when it came to home maintenance and repair. Most importantly, Roy was a family man. He was a devoted son to his parents, Kenneth and Lillian Treible, and Donald and Alice Templeman. He shared a strong bond with each of his brothers and sisters. He deeply loved his wife and children and adored his six grandchildren. They were his focus and the essence of his being. Roy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Suzanne Beckett Templeman Treible of Pittsfield, MA; his children, Elizabeth Treible and Benjamin Smith of Pittsfield, MA, and their children Andrew and Mia; Roy D. and Meridith Treible of Chelmsford, MA, and their children Tyler and Lauren; James and Jenna Treible of Roswell, Georgia, and their children Julia and Cooper. He is also survived by three siblings and their spouses: Wellington Ollie Treible and his wife, Elizabeth; Kenneth Treible and his wife, Patricia; and Marie Treible Cressman and her husband, Willard. He was predeceased by one sister, Cemantha "Nancy" Treible Schneider. He also leaves his two brothers-in-law, Donald Templeman and his wife, Barbara; and Douglas Templeman and his wife, Caroline. He leaves numerous nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: Family and friends are invited to join in a celebration of this wonderful man's life on December 27, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Cranwell in Lenox, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the in care of the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA 01201 which is in charge of arrangements..
