Obituary Condolences

John "Jack" Costello 1963-2012 PITTSFIELD John "Jack" Joseph Costello, 49, of 250 Mountain Drive, died unexpectedly of a heart attack on Sunday, March 4, 2012, at his home. Born in Amsterdam, N.Y., on Jan. 5, 1963, a son of the late James and Ann Murphy Costello, he was raised in Johnstown, N.Y., was a 1981 graduate of Johnstown High School and was a 1985 graduate of Siena College. Following his graduation from Siena, Jack worked for Arthur Young and Ernst & Whinney accounting firms. He then moved into financial planning with Fleming, Relyea & Cox, and eventually Jack opened his own firm. Jack was a loving, caring person who always thought of others. His kindness and great sense of humor will be truly missed. He loved traveling on vacations with his family and relished spending time with his family and friends. Jack was an avid Siena Saints basketball fan since his college days. He also enjoyed walking, playing cards, and watching old movies. Jack is survived by two sisters, Sharon Aleksa and her husband, Peter, of Pittsfield, and Nancy Ficili of Gloversville, N.Y.; two brothers, James Costello and his wife, Karen, of Saratoga, N.Y., and Robert Costello and his wife, Valerie, of Johnstown, N.Y.; as well as his beloved aunt, Mary Costello, of Colonie, N.Y., who, seven years ago, nursed him to health after his bypass surgery; his uncle, Thomas Murphy, of Troy, N.Y.; his nieces and nephews, Peter and Michael Aleksa, Jami, Shannon and Brendan Costello, Andrew Ficili, and Kristina and Gregory Costello. Jack is also survived by his "Siena Family". Coz, as he was known to his close Siena friends, and Uncle Coz to their children, were just like family to him. Jack was pre-deceased by his parents, his aunts, uncles, and a brother-in-law. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for John "Jack" Joseph Costello, will be held Saturday, March 10, at 9:15 a.m., from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at St. Agnes Church celebrated by Rev. Checks may be made to Siena College, in memory of John Costello Class of 1985, 515 Loudon Road, Loudonville, NY 12111.
