Arthur E. Caropreso 1928-2012 PITTSFIELD Mr. Arthur E. Caropreso 83, of 68 A Highview Drive Pittsfield, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded in the loving presence of his family. He was born in Pittsfield, on August 22, 1928 a son of the late Henry and Angelina (Massimiano) Caropreso. He attended Pittsfield Schools and was associated with the family owned Henry's Market for 10 years and then was employed in the meat dept, at South End Market for 10 years, he then became employed at the General Electric Company in the Power Transformer Dept. for 22 years and he retired in 1987. He was a Veteran of World War II in the United States Army. He was former communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and its Holy Name Society and was a member of the Faccioli Club, Italian American Club, Sons of Italy Itam Lodge NO. 564 of Pittsfield, American Legion Post 68 of Pittsfield, Faccioli Club Bocce League, Dalton American Legion Wednesday Night Bocce League, Italian American Club Thursday Night Bocce mixed league, Central Berkshire Holy Name Society. Arthur enjoyed going to the Casino's and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife the former Rita Belcher and they were married on May 30, 1950 at St. Agnes Church in Dalton. Four Daughters, Susan Mahoney, Sandra DelGallo and her husband Joseph, Deborah Ciullo and her husband John, Rosemary Sacchetti and her husband Mark all of Pittsfield. 13 Granchildren, Michael and Daniel DelGallo, Allison Melle, Eric and Shaun Mahoney, Sarah Lampro, Jason and Colleen Meaney, Aaron, Rebecca, Veronica Ciullo, Ashley and Holly Gangell. 18 Great Grandchildren. One Brother, Albert Caropreso and his wife Eileen of Summerfield, Fla., One Sister, Rosemary Vidoli of Killingworth, Conn. He was predeceased by four Brothers and two Sisters, Louis, Edward, Harry, Ralph Caropreso, Antoinette Carnevale, Jennie Pastore. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Arthur E. Caropreso will take place Tuesday, May 1, 2012 a 9 a.m. from the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME 5 Elm St. Pittsfield, MA. 01201. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Church in Dalton with the Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday, April 30, from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the or in care of the funeral home.
