Mary Lou Winston

1932-2012 Mrs. Mary Lou Winston, 80, formerly of 4 Jebee St., Pittsfield, died Monday, October 8, 2012 at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Hartford, Conn., on March 14, 1932 the daughter of William Bolger Sr. and Doris Quinn Bolger, she was a 1950 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

Mrs. Winston was primarily a homemaker and had formerly worked as a telephone operator and as an aid at Pontoosuc Elementary School.

She was a volunteer at Berkshire Medical Center, enjoyed bird watching and was a longtime communicant of St. Charles Church.

Mary Lou was an avid Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics fan. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and supported them in all of their interests.

She also enjoyed spending winters in Sarasota, Fla., and the many friends she met there.

Mrs. Winston was predeceased by her husband, John R. Winston, whom she married on April 24, 1954, he died on July 3, 2011.

She leaves two sons, Michael Winston (Kate Gleason) of Pittsfield and David Winston of Pittsfield; a brother, William Bolger Jr. and his wife Lois of Punta Gorda, Fla.; a sister, Patricia Sisul and her husband John "Skip" of Millersville, Md.; six grandchildren, Jessica, Casey, Kendall, Andrew, Sean and Matthew; one great grandson Mason Winston and several nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Lou Winston will be Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 8 a.m. from the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield MA, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Charles Church, celebrated by the Rev. A. Peter Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday, October 12, 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m.
