Hilda was born on Oct. 13, 1926, in Lenox, Mass., daughter of the late Louis and Anna Calvary Guillou.

She developed many interests in life including reading, swimming, bridge, dancing, travel, nursing, dogs, and being a very caring friend to many people. Hilda worked as a Registered Nurse in Pittsfield, Mass., and resumed her career, working throughout the 1980s at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie. She was an active member of the Catholic Church and donated time as a hospice caregiver while living in Okeechobee, Fla., until moving back to Erie in 2006.

Hilda had a wonderful husband, childhood sweetheart Richard Allard; with whom she had many dynamic fulfilling experiences raising a family in Pittsfield, Picayune, Mass., and then in Erie, until he was taken from her in the early '80s. Luckily, she found another marriage partner, Hubert Hughes, with whom she had many more life adventures, driving across country, moving from Erie to Florida and international travels until his departure in the late '90s.

Hilda has five children; Bill (Margaret) Allard, Suzanne Maul, David (Deborah) Allard, Steve (Judy) Allard and Mike Allard (deceased 2006); three stepchildren, Steve (Cindy) Hughes, Mark (Jill) Hughes, and Sue Hughes-Smith and 15 grandchildren plus 12 great-grandchildren who all love her dearly.
