Jeanne C. Mahan
RENSSELAER, NY Jeanne Carcia Mahan of Franciscan Heights Senior Community, Rensselaer, wife of 49 years of Edward James Mahan, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, surrounded by her family and friends. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Frank Vincent Carcia and Anna Marie Carcia. She was a 1959 graduate of Cardinal McCloskey High School in Albany and a longtime employee of the New York State Education Department until her retirement in 2006. Jeanne loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She also loved old movies, reading, going to dinner with her many friends, taking her annual trip to Maine with her friends Pat and Terry, and spending time with her longtime friends Pat Martel, the late Barbara Breslin and her many new friends at Franciscan Heights and the YMCA water aerobics class.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Frank Mahan (Debbie) of Cheshire, MA, Barbara Jean Mahan (Donna) of Troy, NY, Michael Mahan (Charlene) of Albany, NY, and her stepson Ken Stahl, who is the son of her dear departed friends Taeko and Walter Stahl. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Kristy Ali Coluccio (Kyle), Cameron Alan Mahan, and Zachary Adam Mahan; her sister, Mae Caputo (Edward), many nieces and nephews and by her cat Sammy.
She was predeceased by her brother, Vincent Carcia.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral will be from the W.J. LYONS JR. FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer, on Thursday morning at 8:30 and 9:30 at the Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell Street, Albany, where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered.
