Lorraine Frances Wright Davis

1918-2012 NORTH ADAMS Mrs. Lorraine Frances Wright Davis, 94 of 128 Protection Avenue. North Adams, died on Monday, December 17, 2012 at the North Adams Regional Hospital.

She was born on March 7, 1918, in North Adams, daughter of the late Henry and Fannie (Underwood) Wright. She attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School in 1936.

Mrs. Davis began her employment at the Whitcomb Summit and local theaters in the area. She also worked at the Lilly's Music House, JC Penney and finally at the Cascade Paper Company for 20 years until her retirement. She was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church in North Adams as well as the Colrain Community Church when she resided in that town. She was a former member of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Davis was predeceased by her husband, James Davis, whom she married on May 25, 1937 in Berlin, NY. He died August 9, 1977.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Nancy Waltermire and her husband, Robert and Mrs. Carol Morandi and her husband, Francis all of North Adams. She also leaves six grandchildren, Myra Wilk, Martha Storey and her husband, Tom, James Waltermire and his wife, Lisa, Karl Waltermire and his wife Gabrielle, Robert David Waltermire Jr.and his wife, Lynn and Francis Morandi, Jr. and his wife, Rachel as well as nine great grandchildren.

She is also predeceased by a brother, Howard F. Wright and a sister, Edith M. Mutart.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral service for Lorraine Davis will be held on Saturday December 22, 2012 at 11 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams. Burial will be at a later date in the Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
