Evelyn Mae Wright Maynard


Evelyn Mae (Wright) Maynard 99, of 691 West Road, Clarksburg, Ma. died Friday December 28, 2012 at her home surrounded by his loving family.

She was born in Williamstown, on November 3, 1913 a daughter of the late H.S. "Barney" Wright and Nellie (Martin) Wright, She attended the Little Red School House in and Broad Brook School in Williamstown. She also attended Mark Hopkins School and Drury High School in North Adams, Ma. She was employed during World War II at the Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams. She also assisted her late husband in the operations of the family dairy farm in Hancock. She was a devoted mother, wife and grandmother and was known for her ability to tell great stories to her family and friends. She was an active communicant of St. Francis Church in North Adams where she was a member of the rosary society and the church bowling league where she was a member of the Yankee team

Her Husband Walter Leroy Maynard whom she married October 15, 1932 in Williamstown died April 6, 2000. On October 15, 1992 she renewed her wedding vows with her husband and celebrated 60 years of marriage. Survivors include five daughters Jean C. Pecor of Williamstown, Sandra J. Singer of North Adams, Linda Berrill of Cheshire,Ma. and Barbara Peltier of the state of Florida and Carol Syrett of Cheshire, Ma. Four sons Richard L. Maynard of the state of Washington., Paul J. Maynard of Williamstown, Donald M. Maynard of North Adams and Thomas M. Maynard of Clarksburg, Ma. whom she made her home. (39) Grandchildren, (51) Greatgrandchildren and (19) Greatgreatgrandchildren and (3) Greatgreatgreatgrandchildren Foster son Peter Keating.

She was predeceased by six children Robert Maynard, Joyce Maynard, Ellen Maynard and three children died in infancy. She was also predeceased by four grandchildren Audrey, Josh, Earl and John. One brother Henry Sabin Wright and four stepsisters and one stepbrother

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling Hours at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, Ma. are Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested for Feed the Children Program or through the funeral home.
