Kenneth R. Brooks

1928 - 2013 NORTH ADAMS Kenneth Robert Brooks, 84, of 40 College Ave., North Adams, died Sunday, January 20, 2013, at his home.

He was born in North Adams on January 24, 1928, son of Arthur and Eleanor (Brown) Brooks. He attended schools in North Adams, including St. Joseph High School. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army Infantry, serving during World War II. Mr. Brooks was employed as a foreman at the Sprague Electric Co. for many years. He was last employed as a supervisor for Williams College Dining Services, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the North Adams American Legion Post #125, Greylock Community Club and the North Adams Elks Club. He also was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Church in North Adams. Survivors include his wife Theresa "Ty" (Blondin) Brooks whom he married on February 26, 1949; three daughters, Linda LaCosse and her husband Daniel of Hancock, MA., Diane Marlow of North Pownal, VT., and Carol Parker and her husband Daniel of North Adams; six grandchildren, Justin Kanelos, Ryan Marlow, Laura Marlow, Daniel LaCosse, Nathan Parker and Alyssa Parker, and three great-grandchildren; one brother, Gordon Brooks of the State of Florida.

He was predeceased by a grandson, Jeffrey LaCosse; three brothers, Donald, Roger and Robert Brooks, and a sister who died in infancy.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A liturgy of Christian Burial will take place Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Elizabeth Church in North Adams. Burial will take place in the spring in the family plot in Clarksburg Cemetery. Calling hours at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS,WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA are Wednesday from 4-7 P.M.
