1934-2013 PITTSFIELD Antonio Pellegrini, 78, of 180 Cloverdale Street, Pittsfield, died Thursday, January 31, 2013, surrounded by his loving family, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Sezze Romano, Province of Latina, Italy, on November 4, 1934, a son of Angelo and Luisa Tini Pellegrini, he was educated in Italian schools and served with the Italian Army. Mr. Pellegrini came to the United States in 1959.
A mason craftsman by trade, Mr. Pellegrini had worked for Trova and Francese contractors, and for more than twenty years, was employed by Louis C. Allegrone.
Mr. Pellegrini was a communicant of St. Mark Church.
He was a member of the Sons of Italy ITAM Lodge No. 564
Mr. Pellegrini loved being with his family and friends. He enjoyed his work and his home. He also enjoyed walking and watching televised sports. In his youth, he enjoyed playing soccer.
Mr. Pellegrini leaves his wife, the former Adelia DiPrimio, whom he married May 30, 1961, in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
He is also survived by two sons, Angelo A. Pellegrini and his wife MaryAnn of Pittsfield, and Carlo A. Pellegrini and his wife, Stephanie of Feeding Hills; two daughters, Dorina L. El Saddik of Pittsfield and Cynthia M. Pellegrini of Cicero, Italy; Four grandchildren, Nicholas, Rachel, Samantha, and Zachary, two step grandchildren, Michael and Kassandra; and four nephews in Italy.
He was pre-deceased by a brother, Elio Pellegrini.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Antonio Pellegrini will be held Monday, February 4, at 9:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at St. Mark Church. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday, from 2 to 5 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME. Members of the Sons of Italy ITAM Lodge will meet at the Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. to recite the ritual service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Church or to HospiceCare in The Berkshires, both in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
