Doris Ann Rennell
1928-2013 ADAMS Mrs. Doris Ann (Stevens) Rennell, 84, of 17 Pleasant St. died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Williamstown Commons.
She was born on the island of Vashon, King County, Wash. on July 20, 1928, daughter of Harold and Alice (Cronin) Stevens. She attended schools in Stamford, Vt. and graduated with honors from Drury High School with the class of 1946. Doris also attended the Vesper George School of Art in Boston.
Doris was primarily a homemaker and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an accomplished artist and was well-known for her portraits of local people.
She attended the First Baptist Church in North Adams. Doris enjoyed genealogy and researched 55 generations of her family. She was also an expert seamstress; a voracious reader; and also enjoyed gardening.
She was the widow of Clarence Rennell who died on June 8, 1986. They were married on September 17, 1949.
She is survived by her son, Brian D. Rennell and his wife, Bonnie Law Rennell of North Adams; one daughter, Terry Lynn Roy, and her husband, Richard of Brevard, N.C.; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one sister, Betty J. Kelley of North Adams; nieces and nephews
She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Dale Rennell Bouvier who died in 2001; and her brother, Harold R. Stevens.
FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Doris Rennell will be Friday, February 15, 2013 at 6 p.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams. Burial will be in the spring in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday from 4 to 6 p.m.
