Patricia Welch

1928-2013 NORTH ADAMS Patricia Ann (Donovan) Welch, 84, of 75 Johnson St. died Monday, February 25, 2013 at her home.

She was born in North Adams on Nov. 8, 1928, a daughter of the late Daniel and Gertrude (Carleton) Donovan. She attended the former St. Joseph Grammar School and graduated from St. Joseph High School with the class of 1946. She also attended the former Bliss Business College in North Adams. She was employed at the former Sprague Electric Co. for 50 years.

She was a communicant of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church currently St. Elizabeth of Hungary. In her younger years she was a member of the St. Francis Youth Choir. She enjoyed walking on the Marginal Way in Ogunquit, Maine. Survivors include her husband, Thomas R. Welch, whom she married August 20, 1955 in St. Francis of Assisi Church; one son Kevin Coakley-Welch and his wife Dr. Mary Coakley-Welch Ph.D. of Winchester, Mass.; several nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Gertrude Bushey.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services will take place Friday at 10:15 a.m. at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, CENTRAL CHAPELS 74 Marshall St., North Adams, Mass. followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday from 4 to7 p.m.
