Florence D. Boyle

1914 - 2013 WINDSOR Florence Dorothy Boyle, 98, of Savoy Road died Saturday night, surrounded by her loving family.

Born October 26, 1914, the daughter of Joseph and Dora (Lagowski) Bator, she attended school in Adams.

She was employed for 39 years at the Arnold Print Works in Adams.

She was predeceased by her husband, John F. Boyle (2002). At the time of his death, they had been married for 65 years. Florence and John were co-owners of the Berkshire Trail Cafe on Route 9 in Windsor from 1946 to 1962.

She was an avid gardener and often gave away surplus vegetables and flowers to friends and neighbors. She enjoyed playing Bingo, The Mass Lottery, trips to the casino, and playing cards with her family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, John F. Boyle, and his wife, Jean of Dalton, James M. Boyle and his wife, Suzanne, of Cheshire; four grandchildren, Kelly Boyle of Arlington, Jennifer Boyle, of Holyoke, Kimberly Wethly and her husband, Frans, of Winchester, Douglas Boyle, of Denver, Colo.; two great-grandchildren, Thomas and James Wethly of Winchester, and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by 4 brothers, Stanley, Henry, David, and John Bator; by three sisters, Nellie Pytko, Sophie Wnukowski, Catherine Till, and by a daughter-in-law, Leslie Volin Boyle.

Special thanks goes out to Florence's second family at Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility where the staff provided compassionate and loving care while she was there. The daily bingo and blackjack games were always sure to keep her spirits high.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral service celebrating Florence's life will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Church Street, Cheshire, with the Rev. David Raymond, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Pittsfield. Calling hours will be held at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.
