Harriet E. Stolberg

1917 - 2013 PITTSFIELD Harriet E. Stolberg, 96, of 182 Lenox Ave. died peacefully on Friday March 8, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 14, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Harriet Roberts Lord. A lifelong resident of Pittsfield, she was a 1934 graduate of St. Joseph High School and a 1936 graduate of the former Berkshire Business College.

From 1936 to 1946, she was employed as a secretary at the former General Electric Co.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, and baking. Mrs. Stolberg was also an avid reader.

She was a longtime communicant of St. Charles Church.

She was the widow of Spencer W. Stolberg whom she married Aug. 17, 1944, in St. Charles Church. Mr. Stolberg died Aug. 28, 2004.

She leaves three daughters Harriet E. Stevens of Westfield, Kathleen M. Boulais of Pittsfield and Eloise A. Stone of Tifton, Ga.; two sons, James S. Stolberg and Kenneth R. Stolberg both of Pittsfield. Mrs. Stolberg also leaves her adorable eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, as well as a nephew, Robert Supple, and a niece, Ruth M. Healy.

Mrs. Stolberg was pre-deceased by a sister, Cecile Supple; by a nephew, Joseph Supple and by a brother, Cecil Lord Jr.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Harriet E. Stolberg died Friday, March 8, 2013. Funeral services will be Friday, March 15, 2013, at 9 a.m. from the DWYER FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Charles Church celebrated by Rev. A. Peter Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Calling hours will be at the DWYER FUNERAL HOME on Thursday, March 14, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m.

If friends desire, donations may be made to St. Charles Church or to Hospice Care in the Berkshires in care of the DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St. Pittsfield, MA 01201.
