1952-2013 PITTSFIELD Nathaniel E. Woodson, 60, formerly of McLaughlin Place in Pittsfield died Thursday at Berkshire Medical Center.
A longtime resident of Pittsfield, he was born on December 16, 1952 in Richmond, Virginia, the son of Lucinda Brown Woodson of Newark, N.J. and the late Bernard Woodson. Nate was educated in Pittsfield schools where he played basketball. He worked as a handyman and was always willing to help out others. He enjoyed fishing, singing and playing the guitar and bingo. A generous and good hearted person, Nate was also an accomplished artist at one time.
He was a member of the Truth Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church.
Besides his mother of New Jersey, he leaves two sisters, Linda Murph and her husband Johnny of Newark, N.J. and Trista Armstrong and her husband Patrick of Ayer, Mass.; two brothers, Barry Woodson and his wife Kristin of Lee, Mass. and Willie Woodson of Concord, N.H. He also leaves many nieces and nephews, including his nephew Anthony Woodson of North Adams who was very close to Nate, and many close friends and family.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Nate Woodson who died March 21, 2013 will be held Thursday at 12 noon at the DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery in Lenox. Calling hours for Nate will be held Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon prior to the service at the funeral home.
