Candace Anne Lesure Kavey

1950 - 2013 Candace A.Kavey, 62, of Kissimmee, FL peacefully went to heaven April 30, 2013 surrounded by her children.

She was born October 14, 1950, in North Adams, to Ralph & Joan (Hurley) Lesure.

She leaves behind two children Raymond B. Kavey III and his wife Christie and Colleen J. Kavey and her significant other Rob Nadeau, all of Fl. She also leaves three brothers, Robert Lesure and his wife Donna of VA, Ralph Lesure and his wife Geralyn of North Adams, and Donald Lesure and his husband Jerry LaBerteaux of TX.

She was a lifelong educator. She taught elementary school for many years in Pittsfield, Williamstown, and Lanesbough, MA and Waco, TX. She then moved into textbook publishing in Orlando, FL where she has spent the last 17 years developing world class education content.

She loved to laugh and family was the most important thing to her. Over the past 11 years she has reunited her family and begun a tradition of having a family reunion every few years. She was our "Cruise Director" and was exceptional at making sure everyone felt welcome and involved.

Candy loved to celebrate life. She organized birthday and holiday functions for everyone she knew. She could find the good in anyone she met and truly enjoyed learning about others lives. She was a masterful at, as she liked to call it, cultivating a garden of friends. She always seemed to know what others needed before they even knew they needed it. When Candy taught elementary school, she taught her students to live by a simple philosophy of three C's, courtesy, cooperation, and consideration. She exemplified those traits throughout her life and taught her children to live by them as well.

Candy loved the sound of children laughing and having fun. She could let the chaos that small children bring with them reign down around her and she would simply join in. She devoted her life to others and raising her two children whom she was exceptionally proud of. She will always be in our hearts and the world feels a little less bright without her here.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Church service will be June 22 at St. Elizabeth of Hungry in North Adams, MA at 10:30 a.m. The Family will be receiving Friends for a Reception following the Memorial Service in the church hall.
