Henry Frederick, Sr.

1937 - 2013 PITTSFIELD Henry Arthur Frederick, Sr., 76, of 61 Sheffield Street, died Sunday, June 30, 2013, at Berkshire Medical

Born in Adams on May 9, 1937, the son of Henry M. and Helen Haskins Frederick, he was a graduate of Cheshire, Adams, and Pittsfield schools.

He served with the Army in 1958 and in 1961.

Mr. Frederick was employed by General Electric Company as an assembler in the Power Transformer Department. He retired in 1992 with 25 years service.

Mr. Frederick was a licensed private pilot for many years and was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, NASCAR, and gardening, as well as his family and his dogs.

Mr. Frederick leaves his wife, the former Nora E. Thorpe, whom he married May 7, 1960, in St. Mary the Morning Star Church in Pittsfield.

He is also survived by four sons, Henry A. Frederick Jr., and his companion, Barbara Wilson, Thomas A. Frederick and his wife, Connie, Robert A. Frederick and his wife, Amber, and Richard P. Frederick and his wife, Patricia, of Pittsfield; a daughter, Sandra J. Wichmann and her husband, Steve, of Jeffersonville, Vt.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a sister, Lois Russell.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Henry Arthur Frederick, Sr., will be held Friday, July 5, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Mark Church, celebrated by the Rev. John C. Salatino, pastor. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. There will be no calling hours.
